A Dream That Started at Seventeen

At seventeen years old, Lisa already knew what she wanted.

She wanted land. She wanted horses. And she wanted to build a life around caring for them.

With her grandmother's support as a co-signer, Lisa purchased the land that would become RiverView Farm. At the time, there were no sweeping pastures or bustling barns—just woods, hard work, and a young woman who could already see what might someday be there.

Piece by piece, the land was cleared. Horses arrived. Barns were built. And RiverView Farm began to grow.

Over the decades, Lisa and the farm have weathered storms, loss, rebuilding, and change. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: Lisa's belief in the extraordinary relationship between horses and people.

Today, more than 40 horses call RiverView Farm home. Some are boarded here. Some came needing another chance. Some are growing older here. Each has a story.

And somewhere along the way, RiverView Farm became more than the horse farm Lisa imagined at seventeen.

It became a place where people could come, too.

A place to slow down. To connect. To learn. To feel safe. To experience what can happen when we stop asking a horse to be something for us—and simply allow ourselves to be in relationship with them.
